නේපාල භූමිකම්පාවෙන් විපතට පත්වූවන්ට සහන සැලසීම සඳහා ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුද හමුදාවේ හා ගුවන් හමුදාවේ වෛද්‍යවරුන් හා වෛද්‍ය සහායකයින්ගේ කණ්ඩායම අද (26දා) පෙ.ව. 10.30ට නේපාලයේ කත්මණ්ඩු නුවරට ළගාවූ බව අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය කාර්යාලය පවසයි.
නේපාලයේ සිටි 35ක් දිවයිනට
නේපාලයේ සිටිනා ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයන්ගෙන් 35 දෙනෙකු අද (26දා) සවස මෙරටට පැමිණිමට නියමිත බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුවන් හමුදාවේ මාධ්‍ය ප්‍රකාශක වින්ග්කමාන්ඩර් ගිහාන් සෙනෙවිරත්න මහතා සඳහන් කළේය.
නේපාලයේ ජනතාවට සහන සැලසීමට මෙරටින් පිටත්ව ගිය ශ්‍රී ලාංකික කණ්ඩායම එරටට අද උදේ 10.30ට ඇතුල්වී තිබෙන බවත්, මෙම පිරිස රැගෙන ගිය ශ්‍රී ලංකා ගුවන් හමුදාවේ පී.130 යානයෙන් එරට රැඳී සිටින 35 දෙනෙකු රැගෙන එන බවද පවසා සිටියේ.
භූ කම්පනයෙන් මියගිය පිරිස 2000 ඉක්මවයි
නේපාල භූ කම්පනයෙන් මියගිය පිරිස මේ වනවිට 2,000 ඉක්මවා ඇති බව විදෙස් වාර්තා පවසයි.
වසර 80කින් පසුව එරටට බලපෑ දරුණුතම භූ කම්පනය මෙය බවද කියැවෙයි.
මේ වනවිටත් බොහෝ රටවල් නේපාලය වෙත අවශ්‍ය සහනාධාර සැපයීම අරඹා ඇති බවද වාර්තා වෙයි.
එමෙන්ම, එවරස්ට් කඳු තරණය කරමින් සිටි පිරිසකගෙන් 17 දෙනෙකුද භූ කම්පනය අවස්ථාවේදී හිම කඳු කඩා වැටීමෙන් ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්ව ඇත.
රික්ටර් මාපකයේ 7.8 ක් ලෙස වාර්තා වූ භූකම්පනයෙන් පසු අද දිනය වනවිට තවත් ප්‍රබල පසු කම්පන රැසක් වාර්තා වී ඇති අතර එහි ප්‍රබලතම පසු කම්පනය ඒකක 6.7ක් ලෙස වාර්තා වී තිබේ.
කත්මණ්ඩු නගරයේ පමණක් මේ වනවිට 700කට වැඩි පිරිසක් ජීවිතක්ෂයට පත්ව ඇති බව කියැවෙයි.

Army rescue contingents fly to Nepal
The first segment of the emergency rescue and relief contingent comprising of 44 Army personnel and 4 Civil Medical Consultants left for earthquake-struck Nepal this morning, the Army media said.
The army personnel will assist ongoing rescue and relief operations in the densely-populated Kathmandu valley, devastated by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake which has reportedly claimed at least 1,400 lives.
Another team comprising of 156 rescuers, including 14 sailors, 11 airmen and 4 Civil Medical Consultants, are expected to leave for Nepal soon, the Army said.
Air force flight to bring Lankans in Nepal
The government has taken steps to bring back Sri Lankans including students currently in Nepal in a special Sri Lankan Air Force flight, which will leave for Nepal with a stock of emergency relief to those affected by the earthquake. Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kathmandu has established a hotline for any inquiries about Sri Lankan nationals residing Nepal. Sri Lankans, who are living in Nepal are requested to contact the mission via the hotline - 009779851020057. Sri Lanka’s Ambassador in Nepal W.M. Senevirathna has ascertained the safety and welfare of the Sri Lankans in Nepal and has informed that the 120 Sri Lankan students at the Manipal University in Pokhara and around 20 Sri Lankans in Kathmandu, are safe, the foreign ministry said. The ministry said that the Embassy in Nepal will continue to monitor the situation in relation to the Sri Lankans in Nepal and any further assistance to be extended to Nepal. A powerful earthquake struck Nepal Saturday, killing at least 906 people across a swath of four countries as the violently shaking earth collapsed houses, levelled centuries-old temples and triggered avalanches on Mount Everest.
