ඇනකොණ්‌ඩා මවක්‌ පැටවුන් 31 ක්‌ බිහි කරයි......
දෙහිවල ජාතික සත්වෝද්‍යානයේ ඇනකොණ්‌ඩා මවක විසින් (17 දා) උදේ ඇනකොණ්‌ඩා පැටවුන් 31 දෙනකු බිහිකර ඇත.මෙම ඇනකොණ්‌ඩා මව හා පිරිමි සතා 2003 වසරේදී සත්ව හුවමාරු වැඩසටහන යටතේ චෙක්‌ ජනරජයේ පින්ලන්ඩ් සිටි සත්වෝද්‍යානයෙන් ලැබී තිබේ.
මෙම යුවළ මේ වන විට සිව් වතාවක්‌ ඇනකොණ්‌ඩා පැටවුන් 50 කට අධික ප්‍රමාණයක්‌ බිහිකර ඇති අතර එම ඇනකොණ්‌ඩා පැටවුන් හොඳිsන් වැඩුණු පසු සත්ව හුවමාරු වැඩසටහන යටතේ ඉන්දියාව, පාකිස්‌තානය වැනි රටවල සත්වෝද්‍යාන සඳහා යවා තිබේ.මෙරට උපත ලබන ඇනකොණ්‌ඩා පැටවුන් සඳහා විදේශ රටවලින් හොඳ ඉල්ලුමක් ඇතැයි ද වාර්තා වේ.
ඇනකොණ්‌ඩා මවක ඊයේ බිහිකරනු ලැබූ පැටවුන් 31 දෙනා හොඳ ශරීර සෞඛ්‍ය තත්ත්වයෙන් පසුවන බවද වාර්තා වේ.
ඉන් දින කිහිපයකට පසුව දෙහිවල සත්වෝද්‍යානයේ ඇලි නැයිනියක දැමූ බිත්තරවලින් පැටවුන් 11 දෙනෙක් ලැබිණි. ඒ එකොළොස් දෙනාම සුදුපාටය.
ඇල්බිනෝ වර්ගයේ මේ උරගයින් සඳහා විශාල විදෙස් ඉල්ලුමක් ඇතැයි සත්ව උද්‍යාන බලධරයෝ කියති.
A few days after the birth of 31 baby green anacondas, a total of 11 albino cobras were born at the National Zoological Gardens (NZG), Dehiwela, yesterday (18).
This is the third time that albino cobras were born at the NZG. Around 10 to 15 albino cobras were born in the previous two batches.
An official from the NZG told Ceylon Today, this was the highest number of anacondas born within the confines of the NZG to date.
"The green anaconda is the largest snake in the world. This pair of anacondas was brought from the Czech Republic's Pleasant City Zoo on 11 June 2003.

The first batch of 23 anacondas was born on 12 June 2008. The second batch of 18 anacondas was born on 11 June 2009, and the third set of 22 baby anacondas was born on 14 June 2011," an official of the NZG said.
The NZG has also sent some of these anacondas to zoos in India due to a demand for these species.
The female anacondas grow larger than the males.
Green anacondas can grow to more than 29 feet, weigh more than 550 pounds, and measure more than 12 inches in diameter.
Anacondas live in swamps, marshes and slow-moving streams, mainly in the tropical rain forests of the Amazon and Orinoco basins in the wild.
They feed on wild pigs, deer, birds, turtles and even jaguars. Anacondas swallow their prey and can survive without food for weeks or months after a big meal.
The female anaconda gives birth to two to three dozen babies. The baby anacondas are about two feet long when they are born and are almost immediately able to swim and hunt. Their lifespan in the wild is believed to be about 10 years.
The green anaconda is not a threatened species and is known to exist in reasonable numbers in the wild.
