2016 දි නිම කිරිමට නියමත මෙම කර්මාන්ත ශාලාව මගින් දෙස් විදෙස් මයික්‍රෝ කාර් අවශ්‍යතා සපුරා ලිමට බලාපොරොත්තු වන බව ආයෝජන මණ්ඩලය කියයි.

Micro Cars International Consortium (Private) Limited නමි මෙම නව ව්‍යාපෘතිය සදහා ඩොලර් මිලියන 20 ආයෝජනය කරන බව කියන Micro Holdings සභාපති ලෝරන්ස් පෙරේරා මහතා මෙමගින් රැකියා අවස්ථා 600 ක් ලබා දෙන බවද කියයි.
ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයෝජන මණ්ඩලය සමඟ එක් ව ශ්‍රී ලාංකේය රථවාහන කර්මාන්තයේ ප්‍රමුඛයා වන මයික්‍රෝ කාර් සමාගම හම්බන්තොට මිරිජ්ජවිල අපනයන සැකසුම් කලාපයේ අංගසම්පූර්ණ වාහන නිෂ්පාදන හා එකලස් කිරීමේ කර්මාන්ත ශාලාවක් ආරම්භ කිරීමට නියමිත බව ශ්‍රී ලංකා ආයෝජන මණ්ඩලය සඳහන් කරයි.
හම්බන්තොට මෙම නව කර්මාන්ත ශාලාව විවිධ වාහන නිෂ්පාදනය, එකලස් කිරීම අරමුණු කරගත් නිෂ්පාදන එකලස් කිරීමේ මාර්ගවලින් සමන්විත වන අතර ඒ සඳහා ඇස්තමේන්තු ගත මුළු ආයෝජනය ඇමෙරිකානු ඩොලර් මිලියන 20කි.
නිෂ්පාදන එකලස් කිරීමේ පහසුකමට අමතර ව පර්යේෂණ හා සංවර්ධන ඒකකයක්, පරීක්ෂණ හා තරග ධාවන පථයක් හා පිළිගත් ජාත්‍යන්තර ආයතනයක් යටතේ වාහන ඉංජිනේරු විද්‍යාව පිළිබඳ උපාධියක් පිරිනමන වෘත්තීය පුහුණු මධ්‍යස්ථානයක් ද මෙයට අයත් වේ.
මේ මඟින් දකුණු පළාතේ තරුණ තරුණියන් 600කට පමණ ඍජු රැකියා අවස්ථා බිහි වන අතර ම වක්‍ර රැකියා විශාල විශාල ප්‍රමාණයක් බිහි වනු ඇත. එමෙන් ම දේශීය අමතර කොටස් භාවිතය රටට සැලකිය යුතු විදේශ විනිමයක් ඉතිරි වීම තුළින් මෙන් ම ඒවා අපනයනය මඟින් ද ආදායම් ලැබෙනු ඇත.
ඒ අනුව නව තාක්ෂණය හා හැකියාවන් ගමට ගෙන යාමේ මහින්ද චින්තන ඉදිරි දැක්ම ප්‍රවර්ධනය කරමින් සෑම වර්ගයක ම වාහන නිෂ්පාදනය, එකලස් කිරීම හා සේවාවන් කිරීම සඳහා තම ශ්‍රම බලකාය පුහුණු කිරීමට මයික්‍රෝ ආයතනය පෙරමුණ ගනු ඇත.
මෙම ව්‍යාපාරය මඟින් දේශීය හා ජාත්‍යන්තර වශයෙන් මයික්‍රෝ වෙළෙඳනාමය යටතේ එන වාහනවලට වැඩිවෙමින් පවතින ඉල්ලුම සපුරාලනු ඇත. මෙම සම්පූර්ණ ව්‍යාපෘතිය 2016 වන විට නිම කිරීමට අපේක්ෂා කරන අතර ආයෝජන මණ්ඩලයේ පොල්ගහවෙල අපනයන සැකසුම් කලාපයේ පිහිටුවා ඇති පළමු කර්මාන්ත ශාලාවත් සමඟ මෙය මයික්‍රෝ කාර් සමාගම විසින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පිහිටුවන දෙවන වාහන නිපැයීමේ හා එකලස් කිරීමේ කර්මාන්ත ශාලාව වේ.

This venture will cater to the increasing demand for “Micro” branded vehicles locally as well as internationally. The total project is expected to be completed by 2016 and set to be the second Vehicle manufacturing/ Assembling facility setup in Sri Lanka by Micro Cars, with the first being located in BOI Polgahawela EPZ .
The new manufacturing facility at Hambantota will comprise of automated production /assembly lines, focusing on the production/ assembly of a range of vehicles catering to most of the segments of Automobile Trade with an estimated total investment of 20 Million US$ said Dr Lawrence Perera Chairman / CEO of Micro Holdings, Operating under the umbrella of Micro Holdings (Pte) Ltd, this new venture will be named Micro Cars International Consortium (Private) Limited. In addition to the manufacturing and assembly lines, the state of the art facility will feature a Research and Development unit, a test & racing track and a vocational training centre offering a degree program in Automobile engineering affiliated to a prestigious International Educational Institution. The facility is expected to generate over 600 direct employment opportunities for the youth in Southern Sri Lanka. Similarly many indirect employment opportunities will be generated through OEM parts / component manufactures who will be supplying locally manufactured parts and providing services to the production/ assembling processes. Moreover the use of local components will result in a substantial saving of foreign exchange for the country whilst simultaneously earning from its exports.
Promoting Mahinda Rajapaksa’s vision of taking new technology and skills to the villages, Micro will continue to spearhead the training their workforce in the art of manufacturing, assembling and servicing of all types of automobiles.
