දැනට ලෝකයේ ජීවතුන් අතර සිටින වයස්ගතම පුද්ගලයා ලෙස වාර්තාව හිමිකර ගැනීමේ අවස්ථාව ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට හිමිවී තිබේ. ඒ කෑගල්ල දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ මාවනැල්ල බලත්ගමුව අංක 82/ඒ ලිපිනයේ පදිංචි වයස අවුරුදු 116ක් වූ අපුල්ලන්නලෑ උක්කු මහත්මියටය.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට මේ අවස්ථාව ලැබී තිබෙන්නේ මෙතෙක් ලොව වයස්ගතම පුද්ගලයා ලෙස වාර්තාව හිමිකරගෙන සිටි ජපන් ජාතික ජිරෝමාන් කිමුරා (116) පෙරේදා (12දා) ජීවිතක්‍ෂයට පත්වීමත් සමඟය.

බලන්ගමුවේ පදිංචි උක්කු අම්මාගේ ජාතික හැඳුනුම්පත් අංකය 977960037ඍ ලෙස සටහන් වී තිබේ. එම දත්තවලට අනුව ඇය 1897 අගෝස්තු මස 22 දින උපත ලබා ඇත.

ඇයට දරුවන් අටදෙනෙක්ද මුනුපුරු මිනිපිරියන් ඇතුළුව සියලුම දරුවෝ 80ක් පමණද සිටිති.
ඇයට පසුව ලෝකයේ වයස්ගතම පුද්ගලයන්ගේ සටහනේ දෙවැනි ස්ථානය ජපානයේ මිසාකා ඔකාවෝට හිමිවේ.
එසේම පේරෝමාන් කිමුරාගේ මරණයත් සමඟ ලෝකයේ වයස්ගතම පුද්ගලයන්ගේ සටහනේ මුල් ස්ථාන 10 සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම කාන්තාවන් විසින් හිමිකරගෙන තිබේ.
දැනට ඒ සටහනේ මුල් ස්ථාන 5 මෙසේය.

Apullanalada Ukku, 116 years, is the reigning oldest person in the world, after Japanese national, Jiroemon Kimura, (also 116 years), who held this record earlier, died on 12 June (Wednesday).Ms Ukku, living at No. 82 A, Bulathgamuwa, Mawanella, in the Kegalle District, has now secured a world record as the longest living person in the world, as of 12 June.

The National Identity Card of Ukku Amma of Bulathgamuwa is 977960037 V. Based on the data in the National Identity Card (NIC), she was born on 22 August, 1897.
She has eight children, and around 80 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The second oldest person living in the world is Misaka Okawa of Japan.
Following Jiroemon Kimura’s death two days ago, the names of the 10 oldest living persons in the world are all of women.
